Australian Made

Laminex has been a proud Australian manufacturer for over 85 years.
During that time, we’ve grown from a tin shed in Melbourne to multiple large-scale manufacturing plants in city and country locations right around Australia.

The making of Laminex

Our network of Australian manufacturing plants covers seven locations across four states. In Cheltenham, a bayside suburb of Melbourne, we make high pressure laminate, compact laminate and wet-area panelling. A few hours west in Ballarat, a regional Victorian town, we make decorated MDF used for cabinetry doors and over in Dardanup WA and Gympie QLD, we manufacture raw particleboard and MDF.

Dedicated to innovation

Through innovation and a strong belief in Australian Made, the Laminex business continues to invest in new technology to produce locally made products. We recognise that the best way to support growth in Australia is through our own action – investment in new manufacturing capabilities to begin local production of compact laminate and Laminex AbsoluteMatte, a major digital B2B sales platform and ongoing product range development are just some of things that we are doing to support this growth.

A sustainable future

Sustainable practices are an important part of our manufacturing capabilities with the use of water based resins and water-based cleaning systems, sourcing of certified papers and inputs from certified forestry. Through partnerships with government and industry we will continue to pursue and test new innovations in sustainable and environmental practices.
