Tour this stunning white coastal kitchen and home redesign, inspired by the neighbouring ocean.
"I love the sea, sun and relaxed family life," shares Sunshine Coast home owner Nicole. "We had previously renovated, so I knew what worked and what didn't." Clear from the outset, the heart of this design was the family's outdoor, beach loving lifestyle. With young children and a love of entertaining, Nicole was keen to usher in the warmth and natural appeal of their picturesque coastal setting.
The home's open plan living area flows onto a vast outdoor area which is cleverly accessed by bi-fold doors and large windows. The family's kitchen island extends to an outdoor breakfast bar, custom designed using Essastone in Crystallite Gloss finish.
The abundant use of white for walls, cornices, skirting and architraves invites a contemporary refinement and a stunning reflection of light throughout the home. Painted cabinetry also followed the radiant theme, using Laminex ColourTech doors in Polar White Satin finish. "My favourite colour is white - it's clean and fresh," explains Nicole. Raw, natural materials contrast beautifully with the luxuriant white canvas and deliver warmth and a coastal authenticity. Here, timber floors and plantation shutters mingle with accents of rattan and jute to create an understated driftwood vibe.
Essastone in Crystallite Gloss finish adorns the home's white kitchen benchtops and bathroom and laundry vanities, creating a sense of connection between spaces. "Incorporating stone into our design was really a no brainer," says Nicole. "It's hardwearing, easy to maintain and brings a layered, textural feel which works perfectly with the coastal vibe we love."
"I absolutely love our home. The inside-outside, free-flowing mood has turned out exactly how I pictured it," enthuses Nicole. But for the eager home renovator, there are always improvements to be made. "We will be adding a pool and a cabana soon, and definitely sticking with Essastone ¬– as they say, when you're onto a good thing, stick to it!"
